Our goal is to maintain your pet’s well-being till the very last minute of their life. When we say pet, we refer to your dog, cat as well as exotics pets such as birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, or reptile.  We focus on maintaining or improving their quality of life.  This will involve recommendations to recognize and treat pain, improve mobility, give medical and nutritional advice as well as consider ways to decrease your pet’s geriatric behavioural changes such as increased anxiety.

Help you know when it’s time

We will give you all the information on your pet’s disease processes and clinical signs as well provide you with tools to gauge your pet’s quality of life and help you know when it’s time.

Our initial palliative care consults are longer than our standard consults so that we can first establish and discuss your pet’s prognosis and then provide you with a detailed and personalized palliative care plan. Follow up palliative care consults are shorter and involve reassessing your pet’s quality of life and progression of the disease process as well as help you prepare for the loss of your pet.
